Dr. Jason B. Whitman was born and raised in Cody, WY, a small town at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. He finished his Bachelors of Science at Ferris State University in 1999. His Doctor of Optometry degree was earned at the Michigan College of Optometry in 2001.
Throughout Whitman’s political career he has acquired many honors and accolades. He has most recently been appointed National Policy Chairman of the Young Republican National Federation and State Chairman of the Wyoming Young Republicans. His policy expertise includes economic policy and foreign policy. In 2009 he was named the Political Director of the Wyoming Young Republicans. In 2011, Dr. Whitman was nominated as an at-large member of the Executive Board, Park County Republican Party. Most recently, Jason was named one of the most effective political tweeters by the Washington Post.
In 2010 Dr. Whitman was a Republican candidate for the Wyoming Legislature in one of the most hotly contested primaries in the state's legislative races according to the Casper Star Tribune. Jason has been involved in many state-wide and federal campaigns. He is currently a precinct committeeman and Chairman of the By-laws Committee
